About the Opportunity: Castle Rock Mortgage LLC is looking for a driven, self-motivated Mortgage Loan Originator to join our growing team as an independent contractor (1099). This is a performance-based opportunity — your compensation is tied directly to what you close and fund, so your earning potential grows right alongside your production. As an independent contractor, you will control the manner and means of your work, including your schedule and methods, and you are responsible for your own tax obligations, business expenses, and benefits. This is not a W-2 employment relationship. If you're currently originating for a bank or retail lender, this is a great way to get compensated significantly more per funded loan than a traditional bank-employee structure typically allows. It's ideal for licensed mortgage and real estate professionals, including those newer to the industry, who are ready to build their own book of business.

This position is classified as Remote and open to candidates anywhere in the country, provided you hold an active Arizona MLO license — you don't need to live in Arizona to apply. You'll operate with full independence in how, when, and where you work, while being backed by the support, sponsorship, and infrastructure of Castle Rock Mortgage LLC, a mortgage broker licensed in Arizona, Texas, and Colorado.

Please note: Success in this role is built on your ability to self-source your own leads. This position is not fed leads by the company — you'll generate your own business through networking and relationship-building with realtors, builders, CPAs, financial advisors, and other referral partners. Purchased lead sources are available to those who wish to supplement their own pipeline. Existing relationships with realtors are a strong plus, but we welcome motivated entry-level originators ready to build their network from the ground up.

What You Will Do:

• Originate mortgage loans through our approved list of Wholesale, private and hard-money lenders
• Evaluate clients' financial documentation to determine creditworthiness and loan eligibility
• Source your own leads from past clients, networks, referrals, etc
• Guide clients through the loan process from application to closing
• Build and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, CPAs, and other centers of influence
• Negotiate loan terms that meet both client needs and lender requirements
• Use loan origination software to manage and process applications efficiently
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation throughout the loan process
• Ensure all origination activity complies with all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements; as well as the funding company policies and Castle Rock Mortgage LLC contracts.

Required Qualifications:

• Self-starter who can build and manage an independent book of business
• Active NMLS registration and Active Arizona Mortgage Loan Originator License
• Familiarity with state and federal lending regulations as well as sound understanding of mortgage lending regulatory compliance
• Strong understanding of credit, income analysis, debt-to-income ratios, and risk assessment.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational habits
• Experience in Loan Origination and Mortgage Lending, with the ability to identify suitable products for varied borrower profiles
• Practical experience in pre-underwriting and evaluating loans to ensure quality, compliance, and alignment with lender requirements
• Proven ability to build and maintain client and referral relationships, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Experience using mortgage technology platforms; proficiency with standard office software
